Trapped between multiple conflicts and crises, humanitarian aid is urgently needed in Syria.
Syrian refugee & displacement crisis
The Syrian refugee crisis may not be making headlines as it once did, but the realities on the ground are dire. A recent surge in violence has forced nearly one million people from their homes. Syrian refugees and internally displaced people need our support now more than ever.
You can help us provide aid to Syrians in need by donating to Doctors Without Borders now.
How we're delivering aid to Syrian refugees & others forced from home
For nearly 50 years, we've been delivering medical aid in some of the most dangerous and remote settings in the world—including Syria. Our teams have been providing medical aid to refugees and displaced Syrians since the civil war began in 2011. Because we’ve been there from the start, we have a deep understanding of the challenges and needs on the ground.
Within Syria, in 2019 alone, donations from supporters like you made it possible for us to:
- provide 515,100 patient consultations
- deliver 169,100 routine vaccinations
- assist in 14,800 births
Your donation now makes even more possible.
Donating to Doctors Without Borders—awarded the highest rating for charitable agencies from the American Institute of Philanthropy—ensures that our teams can continue to provide the care that Syrian refugees and displaced people so urgently need.
How your support helps Syrian refugees now
The latest wave of Syrians fleeing violence are landing in already overcrowded camps located in a small area between the closed Turkish border and advancing Syrian government forces. Many of these camps lack sanitation and access to clean water.
Your donation supports our teams on the ground now as they:
- deliver clean water in camps along with hygiene kits, blankets, winter clothes, and mattresses
- treat malnutrition
- offer maternal and mental health care
- provide vaccinations
Since December 2019, our mobile clinic teams have provided medical consultations to more than 17,000 displaced Syrians living in these camps on the border.
Millions more Syrians are in refugee camps across the border in Lebanon, Turkey, and Jordan. Our teams are actively providing free medical and mental health care to these Syrian refugees as well.
Together, we can do more. Help Syrian refugees by donating today.
