Civilians In Ukraine Must Not Be Attacked

Having worked on the frontlines of so many war zones, Doctors Without Borders staff have seen firsthand the consequences of people being trapped between fighting lines. As the war in Ukraine continues, we are demanding that all precautions to avoid harming civilians be taken: Those who want to leave must be allowed to do so safely, those who want to stay must be allowed to live in peace and dignity, medical and other humanitarian assistance must be allowed to enter, and food supplies, water, heating, and electricity must be spared.

"Civilians must not be trapped in a war zone. People seeking safety must be able to do so, without fear of violence,” said Christine Jamet, Doctors Without borders director of operations. The right to seek safety and access for humanitarian aid should be an obligation everywhere in Ukraine.
