A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Morocco on September 8 in the High Atlas mountains, causing over 2,600 deaths and thousands more injured. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has mobilized teams to assess needs in this region, sending more than 10 medical and logistical staff to explore areas in the south of Marrakech. Our teams are working with local authorities and communities on how we can best support them.
Around the world, your unrestricted, tax-deductible donations allows Doctors Without Borders teams to respond to disasters at a moment's notice with lifesaving care, medical supplies, and support for local hospitals and partners.
At the core of our work is a commitment to independence, neutrality, and impartiality. MSF-USA takes no government funding and relies on unrestricted funds from private donors. This means that when an emergency strikes, we don't have to write grants or face red tape and restrictions before we respond—we can act fast.
Help us save lives where the needs are greatest by making an unrestricted, tax-deductible gift now.
